京都の歴史ある染工場にて、熟練の職人が一点一点手作業で柿渋染めを施した特別なシリーズから展開される、YOKO SAKAMOTO定番のレギュラーカラーシャツ。
ドレスシャツを基盤とした上品なパターンメイキングを軸に、程よくドロップしたショルダーラインとゆったりとした身幅で、力の抜けたルーズなシルエットに設計。品の良さを保ちながら日常の装いにも自然と馴染み、タックイン・アウトはもちろん、袖をロールアップしたラフな着こなしや、フロントを開けて羽織るスタイルまで幅広く楽しめます。
素材には、遠州地方の機屋で製織された超高密度タイプライター生地を使用。細番手の糸を限界まで詰めて織り上げることで、独特の強いハリと、動くたびに響く甲高い布ズレ音を生み出しています。パリパリとした音を伴うほど密度の高い生地は、まるで「布そのものを纏う」ような感覚を味わえる、非常に存在感のある素材です。
縫製後にはガーメントダイを施し、さらに京都の染工場で職人の手による柿渋染めを施すことで、天然染料ならではの深みと奥行きのある色彩を表現。柿渋に含まれるタンニンは日光や酸素に触れることで酸化し、染め上がった後も時間をかけて色が徐々に濃く、深く変化していきます。その変化は約2年ほど続くとされ、着用と洗いを重ねることで生地そのものも柔らかく馴染みながら、着る人それぞれに異なる表情へと育っていきます。
完成した瞬間が終着点ではなく、そこから時間をかけて色や風合いを育てていくことのできる一着。超高密度タイプライターの特徴的な素材感と柿渋染めによる経年変化、その両方を存分に楽しめるYOKO SAKAMOTOらしいシャツです。

A signature YOKO SAKAMOTO regular-collar shirt from a special series individually dyed by skilled artisans using traditional persimmon tannin dyeing techniques at a historic dyeing workshop in Kyoto.
Based on the refined patternmaking of a classic dress shirt, the silhouette is relaxed with moderately dropped shoulders and generous room through the body. It maintains an elegant appearance while feeling effortless enough for everyday wear. The balanced proportions work equally well tucked in or left untucked, with the sleeves casually rolled up, or worn open as a light outer layer.
The fabric is an exceptionally high-density typewriter cloth woven by a specialist mill in the Enshu region of Japan. Fine yarns are woven to an extremely high density, creating a distinctive firmness and a crisp, high-pitched rustling sound with every movement. Its uniquely crisp character gives the wearer an almost direct sensation of experiencing the fabric itself.
After construction, the garment undergoes garment dyeing followed by traditional persimmon tannin dyeing by skilled artisans in Kyoto. The natural dye produces a rich, deeply nuanced color that continues to evolve long after the dyeing process is complete. As the tannins in the persimmon dye oxidize through exposure to sunlight and oxygen, the color gradually becomes deeper and richer, with this transformation said to continue for approximately two years. Repeated wear and washing also soften the fabric, allowing each shirt to develop a character unique to its wearer.
Rather than reaching its final form when first completed, this is a garment designed to continue evolving through time and wear. Combining the distinctive character of ultra-high-density typewriter cloth with the remarkable aging qualities of traditional persimmon tannin dyeing, it is a shirt that embodies YOKO SAKAMOTO’s approach to materials and craftsmanship.
