スウェットとフリース、それぞれの特徴を掛け合わせたオリジナルファブリックで製作されたヴァーシティジャケット。
柔らかく編み上げたスウェット生地をベースに、内側を起毛させることでフリースのような心地良い肌触りを表現。起毛部分が空気を溜め込むことで保温性を高めながら、体温調節にも優れた生地に仕上げられています。
柔らかく落ち感のある生地をヴァーシティジャケットのデザインへと落とし込み、首元には和装を思わせるように開いたリブネックを採用。身頃はパネル状に切り替えて縫製し、袖にもパッチを思わせる切り替えを加えることで、単色でありながら陰影と立体感が生まれるよう構築されています。
カラーは色出しから幾度も試験を重ねたオリジナルレシピで染色。くったりと着古したような落ち感のある生地に、職人が手作業で不規則なフェード加工を施すことで、一般的なヴィンテージウェアとも異なる奥行きのある表情を作り上げています。
ヴァーシティジャケットのクラシックな要素をベースにしながら、柔らかな素材使いや独特の切り替え、ANCELLMならではの加工によって新たなバランスへと再構築した一着です。

A varsity jacket crafted from an original fabric that bridges the characteristics of sweatshirt jersey and fleece.
The fabric begins with softly knitted sweatshirt material, with the interior brushed to create the comfortable feel of fleece. The raised fibers trap air within the fabric, providing warmth while also helping regulate body temperature for a comfortable wearing experience.
The soft, fluid fabric is shaped into a varsity jacket silhouette, with an open ribbed neckline that carries a subtle reference to traditional Japanese clothing. The body is constructed with paneled seams, while patch-like sections are incorporated into the sleeves, creating depth and dimension even within the monochromatic design.
The color is developed from an original recipe refined through repeated testing. Against the relaxed, worn-in drape of the fabric, irregular fading is applied by hand, creating a deeply nuanced surface with a character distinct from conventional vintage garments.
Drawing on the classic language of the varsity jacket while reworking it through soft materials, distinctive paneling, and ANCELLM’s signature processing, this piece offers a fresh interpretation of a familiar form.
